Kara Williams is a clinical social worker who approaches her work as a therapist with humor and warmth. Kara uses a strengths based, solution focused and cognitive behavioral approach to her work with adolescents and adults of all ages and backgrounds. Kara has worked in various settings including schools with children of all ages, community mental health centers, nursing homes and outpatient clinics. Kara helps clients who are working through transitions in their lives, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting stress and loss. Kara enjoys helping clients to examine patterns of coping in their lives and to build new, positive and healthy coping skills. Kara believes that a good therapeutic relationship is built on trust, empathy and compassion and she is passionate about supporting her clients on their path to healing and self discovery. She feels as though it is a privilege to be a social worker and to walk alongside people through their pain, sadness and times of transition. In addition to her clinical services, Kara also serves as the Site Director for LifeStance Health’s outpatient offices in Newton and Hopkinton, MA.
