Leslie Merriman, PhD, LP

When you meet Leslie, you’ll find her to be warm, down-to-earth, genuine, direct, silly, and serious—sometimes all within the same session. With a clear and compassionate presence, she’ll help you to gain insight and perspective to find a greater sense of freedom within the inevitable suffering that life brings. She considers it a privilege to work with you as you take the courageous step into psychotherapy. She’ll spend time getting to know you and understand you as a unique person. She’s passionate about empowering you to lead your most authentic, joyful life.
Leslie enjoys working with people from all walks of life, including individuals coping with complex and intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, chronic illness, relational conflict, and spiritual or existential crises. She’s a humanistic, person-centered therapist with an integrative style. She draws from many sources to find tools to support you on your path, including evidence-based, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and contemplative approaches. Leslie has special expertise in mindfulness and meditation, and will help you go deep within yourself to find stillness and strength, even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.

After receiving her first Master’s degree in Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Leslie completed a second Master’s and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, followed by advanced training in clinical psychology. After having enriching work experiences in integrative health care, neuropsychological assessment, and higher education, she is thrilled to come back to her main love: one-on-one, individual psychotherapy.
