Mallory Nicolaysen, LMSW

Mallory Nicolaysen is a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York who has been practicing since 2021. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Albany where she minored in both Sociology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She then obtained her Master’s in Social Work degree from Adelphi University. Mallory utilizes a holistic person-centered and strengths-based perspective. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has clinical expertise in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders. Mallory provides primarily cognitive behavior therapy and a mindfulness approach; however, she has tailored her interventions to best provide for her clients. With that said, she has also provided interventions such as art therapy, play therapy, interpersonal work, and psychoeducation. Mallory’s approach has been from a strength-based and person-centered mindset. She believes in meeting each client where they are every time they walk through her door. In her eclectic approach, she believes that you are the expert in your life and as your therapist, she will function as a guide in helping you navigate your feelings and experiences. Mallory’s goal is to create a therapeutic place of safety, trust, and healing for you to improve your well-being. In her spare time, Mallory enjoys spending time with her two cats Ripley and Rambo. She also loves reading, crocheting, and has just started a new venture of making pottery!
