Miles Hedgpeth is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California who has been practicing since 2015. He has an MA in Counseling Psychology. Miles was born in Geneva, Switzerland and grew up in San Francisco. He decided to become a therapist after spending five years working as a counselor for a foster child and worked with this individual from age 13 until his emancipation at age 18. Miles has worked with diverse populations all in the Bay Area. With more than a decade of experience, Miles has found that acceptance of emotions is the most prominent tool in psychotherapy. Counseling from a humanistic frame, he focuses on engagement as an ally with the client. Miles has treated many disorders, but if the client needs support with anxiety, depression, isolation, or interpersonal challenges, they can collaborate with Miles in managing and alleviating these feelings healthfully. In his youth, Miles was a surfer where he developed a profound kinship with the ocean. This is where he learned patience, mindfulness, and a respect for the power of nature. He enjoys hiking and connection with the outdoors, as well as reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
