Dr. Sarah Foster is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Louisiana who has worked in mental health for 18 years in various settings such as criminal justice, mental health rehab, substance abuse, and the group home setting. She obtained a Doctor of Public Administration with a Public Policy and Administration concentration from West Chester University. She also obtained a Master of Art in Counseling and Guidance with a concentration in Human Services from Louisiana Tech University, a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology with a minor in Deaf Education from Grambling State University. Dr. Foster presented at the 2021 Gender Equity Conference, the 2021 Annual PASSHE Women’s Consortium Conference, and the 2023 Child Welfare Conference. Her area of research focuses on maternal substance abuse policymaking and how those policies might persuade such women to conceal their addiction to avoid stigma and criminal retaliation. Dr. Foster’s mental health background includes assisting individuals who struggle with ADHD, ODD, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. As a result, she can help a client feel comfortable by providing a nonjudgmental listening ear. It is essential that we meet clients where they are while providing reassurance and emotional support during the counseling process. In her free time, Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with her family, singing, event planning, and theater. She has been a part of several productions where she has been in lead roles. She has also recorded and opened for numerous recording artists.
