Laura Butler, MSW, LISW-S
Laura Butler helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults across Ohio manage emotional, behavioral, and relationship challenges through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions. Laura creates a supportive and collaborative environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful progress toward emotional wellness.
Laura is especially passionate about supporting individuals and families navigating complex life circumstances, including patients recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital, court-ordered treatment, and parental custody concerns. She understands that these situations often bring heightened stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain, and she works closely with patients to help them build stability, strengthen communication, and develop healthier coping strategies. Her approach emphasizes practical tools, emotional resilience, and long-term healing for both individuals and families.
Her clinical work incorporates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR, along with additional therapeutic approaches tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Laura also offers psychological testing and has experience supporting concerns related to ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, childhood behavioral challenges, grief, and relationship conflict. She works with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals, military veterans, and individuals with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities.
Since beginning her clinical practice in 2016, Laura has remained committed to helping patients navigate difficult transitions with empathy and clinical expertise. She believes therapy should be a space where patients can safely process challenges, gain insight, and build confidence in their ability to move forward.
Outside of her clinical work, Laura is passionate about helping families navigate caregiver burnout and major life transitions. She values supporting caregivers as they balance personal wellness with the responsibilities of caring for others.
