Lisa Dawson, Therapist

Lisa Dawson, MA, MS, LPC-S, RPT-S

Areas Of Focus:

Lisa Morrell Dawson, is an LPC-Supervisor who has been practicing since 2010. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS with a master’s degree in counseling. Lisa also has a master’s degree in early childhood education from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. Lisa is a Registered Play Therapist, as well as being EMDR Certified.

Lisa believes the therapeutic relationship, built on trust and empathy, is the key for healing for most. As a trauma-informed therapist, she knows words are not always possible and that inner strength comes from being able to share and express thoughts and feelings in many ways – whether through play, creative expression (such as music or art), sand tray, or physical activity such as yoga or sensory experiences.

Her main areas of focus are the LGBTQ+ community, play therapy, perinatal mental health, ADHD, Autism, depression, perinatal/postpartum, PTSD, women’s issues, self-harm, and trauma. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and creating art.
