Allison Simon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland who has been practicing since 2010. She earned a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. Allison a psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, and adults. She believes that therapy is an important journey towards discovery of your true potential. The decision to come into therapy is an important one and must be done when the time is right for you. Allison believes a therapist should be a collaborative partner, advisor, and guide along the journey. She enjoys helping people reach their potential and learn to face life’s challenges in a more effective way. Allison has worked in a variety of settings including at an adolescent residential treatment center and in community mental health. She has experience working with individuals with a variety of difficulties including trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ADHD. Allison also believes that there are challenges in life and that sometimes we all need a little help to get through them. Such challenges include adjustment and transition challenges, school-related issues, behavior challenges, parenting assistance, work-related issues, divorce, grief, trauma, and other family and personal problems. Allison believes that one size does not fit all. She has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. Outside of work, Allison enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
