Amanda Henderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Michigan who has been practicing since 2014. Amanda graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Criminal Justice with a focus on rehabilitation. Her Master of Social Work degree is from Michigan State University; her focus was school social work and trauma (in progress).
Amanda focuses on holistic health and the mind, body, spirit connection. She aims to create a relationship of trust without judgment. Her practice is person-centered, focusing on the overall well-being of the individual. Amanda strives to work collaboratively with her clients to help them reach their personal goals. Her specialties include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Talk Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, and more. She also integrates elements of nutrition, breath work, and functional exercise into her practice. Although Amanda works with individuals of all ages, she has a decade’s worth of experience working with children and adolescents in the school system, specializing in at-risk youth, trauma, individuals with neurodevelopmental diagnoses (i.e., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, etc.), and teaching “quirky” kids social skills. Additionally, she has experience working with individuals who have experienced a separation of the family unit, coping with the loss or long-term illness of a family member, anxiety, and other health-related illnesses. Amanda is devoted to helping her clients heal from past and present pain in order to create joy and purpose in their lives.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends, weightlifting, hiking, reading dystopian novels, gardening, and playing with her dog, Pavlov. She has a passion for fitness, nutrition, and community which shapes her life outside of work.
