Ashtyn Mouret is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas who has been practicing since 2020. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family studies, before obtaining her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Ashtyn utilizes an integrative approach to counseling, where she pulls from different theories and techniques in order to most effectively meet the needs of each individual client. Examples of theories she uses may include, but are not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and play therapy. Ashtyn’s number one goal is to provide a therapeutic space that fosters transparency and authenticity – a space where her clients feel safe and empowered to engage in self-exploration of their feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Ashtyn believes that each person is the expert of their own experiences and strives to help her clients unlock those inner resources necessary for healing and growth to flourish. Ashtyn offers psychotherapy and counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children as young as five years of age. She works to help individuals suffering from a wide range of difficulties such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, divorce, trauma, grief/loss, and daily stressors. When working with children, Ashtyn aims to assist them in learning how to express their feelings in more helpful ways, work through problems, and practice new ways of interacting with others (often times through play when they’re younger). Ashtyn also feels that incorporating creative interventions into services for clients of all ages can be extremely helpful, especially when a client might feel less comfortable expressing themselves with words alone. Outside of work, Ashtyn enjoys staying physically active whether that be working out at the local gym or taking her son on walks. She very much enjoys spending time with her family, whether that be exploring all of the new things the Houston area has to offer, going for rides on her husband’s boat, or spending time at home on her back patio while her husband grills. She has always grown up loving to go to the beach, however since meeting her husband, she has grown to love trips to the mountains where they try to vacation once a year. Her family and friends are very important to her, so really any activity where they’re able to bond and create memories makes her heart smile
