Brian Flynn, LCSW
Brian is a warm, compassionate and present clinical psychotherapist. He has over 15 years of experience with adolescents, adults, couples and families experiencing complex mental health and addiction issues. Areas of practice include depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting, LGBT, men’s issues, trauma, grief, autism and more. Brian’s style and approach is thoughtful, positive, pragmatic, and eclectic. Brian is highly respectful of the fact that the change process for his clients is challenging and requires courage. He tends to be quite active and direct in personal and relational problem solving. He also believes meeting the client where they are is essential. Brian employs a wide range of practical interventions including mindfulness, gender specific interventions, men’s issues, resilience training, trauma-informed CBT, DBT, brief interventions, motivational interviewing and crisis therapy while respecting the stages of clients’ change processes. Brian received his master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a concentration in physical and behavioral health. He also has certificates in both youth work and child and adolescent studies. Outside of his practice, Brian’s personal goal is to live intentionally, gratefully and in the present moment.
