Dr. Yang has been providing care for patients since 2014. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a dual-major in Biology & Psychology, University of Washington School of Medicine and Harbor UCLA Medical Center’s Fellowship Program. She is board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She participated in UCLA’s Parent Training Program and is certified in UCLA PEERS (Program for the Education & Enrichment of Relational Skills).

She dedicates her time to seeing only youth and empathizing with patients & their families. She believes in listening to & advocating for her patients’ needs and empowering families to take on a collaborative approach to wellness. She values holistic well-being by taking cultural, social & spiritual factors into account as well as complementary & alternative options. Her treatment approach is to comprehensively evaluate patients to ensure accurate diagnoses, develop a supportive patient-doctor relationship, use evidence-based therapy, and prescribe medication (only if indicated) at the lowest dose & for the shortest duration needed.

As a child of immigrant parents, she has special interests in inter-generational issues, along with self-esteem and emotional sensitivity & dysregulation. She is also interested in social justice, education & environmental sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, wildlife & any opportunities for creativity.
