Clayton Schmidt, MSW, LPC
Clayton has been working Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for a little over a year and a half. He is working toward his independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) which he hopes to achieve by early 2023. Clayton graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and from Xavier University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His first clinical experience was located at Xavier University’s Counseling Services where he completed his internship working with students at the university through presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, and issues with adjustment and transitions. Clayton utilizes evidence-based modalities of treatment such a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and practices from treatment models including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help guide his clients to live as the best version of their self. Clayton continues to strive to learn and grow as a clinician to provide a safe space for any client and offer the best care possible for a wide range of presenting concerns.
