I specialize in treatment of adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ocd. I attended medical school at the University of Hawaii, after which I completed my psychiatric residency training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. During residency, I received training in medication management and various psychotherapy modalities. My therapeutic approach is compassionate and collaborative. I recognize that seeking help for psychological distress requires a tremendous amount of courage and feel honored to work with individuals as they navigate through challenging life situations. Often the path to healing is multifaceted and involves the hard work of weekly psychotherapy, lifestyle/behavioral changes, and may also include medications. I primarily provide medication management services and have limited availability for weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT SERVICES I PROVIDE: 1) I do not perform disability evaluations. 2) I prescribe controlled substances such as benzodiazepines and hypnotics sparingly due to risk of abuse/harms associated with long term use, and if I do it tends to be at a low dose and for a limited time. 3) Due to the complexity of factors contributing to attention, as well as risks associated with stimulant medications, I perform a comprehensive evaluation for adhd over multiple sessions for patients new to my practice seeking to start/continue stimulant medications, which may/may not align with the opinion of previous providers. 4) I am only accepting new patients who reside in the Sacramento/Davis/Folsom/El Dorado and the San Francisco Bay areas.
