Edelyn is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner receiving her post-masters PMHNP graduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 2021. She received her Bachelor degree in nursing in 1988 from the University of Connecticut, and has had an over 34 year nursing career in various areas of Psychiatric Nursing including inpatient, outpatient, partial programs, and 14 years of emergency room psychiatric crisis work. For 6 1/2 years she was also an educator of undergraduate and accelerated nursing students at the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in their psychiatric mental health program. She is a member of the following professional organizations: American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Neuroscience Education Institute.

I’ve been to dozens of care providers for my mental health since I was a teenager , I am now 27. This facility actually cares about their patients and doesn’t see us as a number or just someone to get money from. Edyln bishop is my provider and she has saved my life. She is understanding and truly cares about her patients. I’ve never met a care provider so compassionate and caring about others that deal with mental health issues. I could write a whole book on how awesome she is. If you’re nervous and curious but scared to try lifestance, don’t be it’s the best in Knoxville. Edyln is a lifesaver and I am forever in debt to her. The office staff is very helpful as well. Anyways trust me this is a wonderful place.

Edelyn Bishop has been great to work with. She is very understanding and kind and makes you feel at home. You are not just a number to her. She is very knowledgeable about medications and cautious with what she prescribes so you aren't left with unwanted side effects. She is always quick to respond anytime you have an issue and gets it resolved quickly. I have made a lot of progress working with Edelyn. I know I am in good hands and I highly recommend her. I'm very thankful to have found her.

I was hesitant at first to trust anyone at Lifestance (prior mediocre experience), but I really like Edelyn. She has seen me at my worst and has shown me great compassion during times of deep depression and hardship. She patiently overcame my reluctance to trust her. I would happily recommend her to anyone in need of a compassionate ear. She's a lovely and warm woman who will listen to you and work tirelessly to help you find the medication you need, as well as the medication you DON'T!

I love the convenience of having my appointments on my cellphone most of the time because work doesn’t care if you have to see your doctors. I’ve been with Lifestance for about 5 years and I’m pretty sure that I will stay on. You have the choice to go in office or do your appointments on your phone or computer but you do go in office sometimes so they can check you out and see how your doing. This office works for my schedule. Thank you Lifestance!!

My appointment with Dr. Bishop was amazing! She made me feel at ease, which isn't easy for me in one on one settings. You could see on her face as well the genuine care she has and in the way she asks and answers. She was very patient with me and allowed me to ramble, which can be a fault of mine. She was very attentive and made the whole thing a lot easier than I expected. I would highly recommend her to anyone and already have!

Edelyn Bishop is the best! Ms Bishop is very professional, passionate & caring. I've had nothing but a great experience with her when I felt I couldn't go any further.
