Dr. Diaz is a post-doctoral fellow who provides individual psychotherapy for adults and young adults. Utilizing her strengths of empathy and warmth, Dr. Diaz strives to provide a non-judgmental and safe space to explore and build an interpersonal foundation with clients to maximize healing and growth. She has worked with a variety of adults, adolescents, and children, within the in-home therapy setting, community settings, boarding schools, school-based health centers, and outpatient services. Dr. Diaz is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Diaz’s therapeutic approach is collaborative in nature, and draws from cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, client-centered, culturally sensitive, and draws from holistic interventions (e.g., mindfulness.) Her practice emphasizes a therapeutic alliance in which there is collaboration to examine factors that are impacting an individual’s well-being. Dr. Diaz is dedicated to help clients understand their narratives and empower them to experience a fulfilling and meaningful lifestyle. She believes that is it important to meet clients in their journey and to promote motivation and change. Dr. Diaz received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras Campus, Puerto Rico and earned her Masters and Doctoral Degree from William James College with an emphasis on Latino Mental Health.
