Dr. Geoffrey Fowler, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who conducts psychotherapy and psychological testing for clients ages six through geriatric. His psychotherapy integrates humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, emotional-processing, and insight-gathering approaches for mood disorders, anxiety, anger, behavioral issues, and life-transition concerns. He also has experience helping clients in the LGBTQ community and clients going through transitions. His psychological testing focuses on evaluating for ADHD, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, academic achievement, and PTSD.
Dr. Fowler received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Arts in General Psychology at American University. He obtained his Doctorate of Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology, Virginia Campus. Dr. Fowler completed his internship at Loudoun County Mental Health Services. There, he was exposed to community mental health and treated clients with severe mental disorders. He completed his residency at Prince William Family Counseling, a private, outpatient group practice. Dr. Fowler also has extensive experience helping clients with substance abuse issues, severe mental illness, and assisting clients in the forensic setting.
Dr. Fowler utilizes an integrated therapeutic framework incorporating evidence based techniques, emotional processing techniques, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused techniques. His areas of special interest and training include, anxiety, stress, communication, impulse control, emotional regulation, and child/adolescent behavioral issues. He is currently in the process of becoming a certified ADHD specialist. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his twins
