Grant Hart, PsyD
I believe that much of what takes place in therapy occurs in the interactions between the patient and therapist. As such, my work is built around the therapeutic relationship, with interventions occurring within the context of a warm, supportive and flexible interpersonal environment.
I make use of psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive models in my work with individuals, with an aim at reducing symptoms, restoring functioning, and helping people to find a sense of peace and happiness in their lives. This is done while honoring and validating the richness of all emotions, with respect for individuals’ identities and the experiences that have brought them to where they are in life.
In addition to individual therapy, I facilitate and co-facilitate several process groups, with emphases on improving emotional and interpersonal functioning.
I received my undergraduate degree in psychology and creative writing from Arizona State University, and my MA and PsyD degrees in clinical psychology from Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. I have experience working in group practices, community mental health, private practice settings, on acute inpatient units, and as a mobile crisis responder.
