Jemila Ali, NP

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Jemila brings empathy, an easygoing communication style, and a sweet sense of humor, making it easy for her to talk to patients and family members. A typical day includes assessing and diagnosing patients on mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, PTSD, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders.

Jemila started as a nursing assistant, then transitioned to registered nurse and worked for 15 years in all settings of mental health including hospital and outpatient clinic. She has worked with all ages of patients and with a wide range of diagnosis. Jemila can prescribe medication as a viable option; she listens and educates the patient before resorting to medication and encourages a combination of therapy for the best result. She firmly believes that the understanding of the treatment plan, medication, and available resources will improve continuity of treatment.

Her love of the healthcare profession to her empathetic nature as a driving force created her passion for the practice. A kind soul has been Jemila’s asset in her long career dedicated to Mental Health service.
