Kate McCormick, LCSW

Kate McCormick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Missouri. She obtained her Master of Social Work from the Brown School at Washington University in 2020 and also received a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School in 2016. Prior to joining the LifeStance team, Kate was an in-home family Crisis Therapist and later worked as a Medical Social Worker at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in the City of St. Louis.

As a Social Worker, Kate is passionate about equitable health care access and is also aware of the ways in which the systems we live within affect our mental health. As a therapist, Kate is committed to unpacking the existential issues which come up when we’re all striving to live lives worth living while also keeping sessions practical by utilizing tools from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Kate is also currently in the supervision process to become an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. Additionally, Kate is always down to assist clients with brief problem solving and system navigation, particularly within the medical system.

Overall, Kate is naturally born people person and most enjoys working with preteens to those experiencing a mid-life awakening (ages 11 – 45.) In addition to Anxiety and Depression, Kate has done a deep dive into grief work and is also passionate about supporting clients in living authentic lives in the areas of gender, sexuality, spirituality and within their interpersonal relationships.

Outside of work, you can find Kate reading, writing, swimming, spending time with her medically complex rescue Pitbull Grace while also doing her own healing work.
