About Nizel Fernandez (She/Her)
Nizel Fernandez is a licensed mental health counselor who has been practicing since 2004. She graduated with a psychology degree from Universidad Iberoamericana, a Master’s degree in Family Therapy from Universidad Catolica de Santo Domingo, and a Ph.D. in Family and community studies from Clemson University. She has completed specializations in therapeutic interventions, systemic- psych-evaluation, play therapy, and trauma-informed CPP.Nizel believes in focusing on individual strengths and accompanying clients through self-reflection in their healing process. Nizel’s approach is built around resilience capacities creating a safe therapeutic space to explore emotions, values, and thoughts. Nizel enjoys baking, painting, and listening to music in her spare time. She is passionate about building joy and being intentional about self-care practices.
