Rachel Howard is a clinical therapist in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Rachel is passionate about helping individuals and families experience lasting healing through culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy. She specializes in working with underserved communities and diverse populations, particularly adolescents and young adults – striving to create a safe, and affirming space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.

As an Army Reservist herself, Rachel enjoys working with military veterans – helping them to identify, process, and cope with various forms of PTSD and adjustment disorders. Her approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and trauma-informed practices, as Rachel holds a certification in ARC Trauma Training (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency).

She has a bachelor’s degree in both Psychology and Sociology from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master’s degree in social work from Winthrop University. As an LGSW clinician, Rachel offers her clients a structured and goal-oriented approach to address specific problems (i.e., identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, developing coping strategies, and modifying behaviors to improve mental well-being).

With additional specialized focus in Narrative Therapy as well as Intuitive Therapy, Rachel helps her clients to explore the stories they tell about their lives and assists them in rewriting their narrative in a way that allows for a fuller expression of who they are. She helps her clients explore ways to take back control while silencing the lies that stem from anxiety – working together to build their confidence and to become the hero in their own narrative.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading, CrossFit, and riding horses. Each year around the fall time, she loves to rewatch Gilmore Girls and Scandal!

Rachel is currently taking new clients both in-person (Eden Prairie) and virtually.
