Sean Blackburn is a licensed independent social worker with over 20 years of experience. He received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from University of Kentucky. He has experience working in outpatient, inpatient and long-term care settings. He also has experience providing counseling services to young adults and older adults. He specializes in treating anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar illness, substance use disorders and personality disorders. His expertise and training have been in the areas of mindfulness-based therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing for substance use disorders, and in DBT.

Sean is an excellent therapist. He is the first therapist who I have seen in childhood and as an adult who has taken the time to help me learn new coping mechanisms for CPTSD and trauma. He has suggested books to read and a workbook that we worked on for the first 2 years. This gave me something to do and learn while processing everything that I have been through.
