Tiffany Massia, PsyD
I have expertise in a variety of treatments, and believe that as we are all individuals, therapy should be tailored to what works best for the individual.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and received my doctoral degree from Azusa Pacific University. My graduate degree placed an emphasis on Systemic Therapy, which means I have a great respect for the impact that cultural, spiritual, and generational factors can have on our lives, our sense of meaning and purpose, and our overall sense of well-being, and I take these things into consideration when engaging in therapy. I completed an APA-accredited internship at Loma Linda Veteran’s Hospital, where I also completed my postdoctoral training. My postdoctoral fellowship emphasized Health Psychology, so I take a holistic approach in therapy, recognizing how the body can impact the mind, and vice versa.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, including military veterans, impacted by trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, issues of identity, life transitions, and those who feel adrift and are looking to find a direction once again. I enjoy working with individuals from a wide-variety of backgrounds and orientations. I have expertise in a variety of treatments, and believe that as we are all individuals, therapy should be tailored to what works best for the individual. We will work together to identify what exactly that is. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Health Psychology (including addressing barriers that get in the way of weight management and diabetes management, and good sleep), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma, STAIR (Skills Training in Affect and Interpersonal Regulation for trauma and anxiety), Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness.
