Parenting ADHD Group in Illinois

A Skills Group for Parents of kids with ADHD

Get Started

Group Overview:

Parenting kids with ADHD is hard, and there’s a lot of bad advice and many productivity tips and tricks for neurotypical kids that don’t work with ADHD – if anything, they make the problem worse.

This group will help parents learn how to motivate their kids and work with the ADHD, not fight against it.

The ADHD SNAP-IV can be used at the beginning of the group and at the end to determine if the training has been effective.

Cost: Insurance and self-pay are accepted

Virtual Online Sessions – This group currently meets virtually online and not in-person

Facilitator:

Dave Lovely, LSW

Dave Lovely is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences, and a Master’s in Social Work. Dave transitioned to mental health after two decades in corporate life, so he understands that life can be complicated and take unexpected turns. Sometimes we need compassionate, thoughtful advice from someone else who’s been there, too! Dave has an enormous range of prior life experience that he brings to his work as a therapist, on issues ranging from workplace discontent to LGBTQIA+ life to neurodivergence to blended families. Dave is also queer, nonmonogamous, and a parent! Outside of work, Dave is an avid gamer, loves movies and music, and is involved with both the medieval reenactment and furry communities.
