Dr. Marquez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Boston College and her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in Child and Family Psychology from the University of North Texas. During her training, Dr. Marquez worked in community mental health, integrated care facilities, community advocacy, college counseling, residential treatment, and the Veterans Affairs health care system. Dr. Marquez has over 7 years of experience in providing brief and long-term therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach to therapy utilizes family systems, attachment, and humanistic theories. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She also utilizes trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and parent behavioral management consultation when working with younger clients, and dialectical behavior therapy when working with adolescents and adults. Dr. Marquez is trained to treat a broad variety of presenting concerns but specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as military service members, veterans, and their families. Her style is warm, genuine, and interpersonal, and she enjoys incorporating humor when it fits for her clients. When not at work, Dr. Marquez enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, enjoying the outdoors, and cooking.
