In spite of all the talk about a "mental health crisis" in this country, the unfortunate fact is that it is not being taken seriously. For example, in Upstate NY today it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find an outpatient, psychiatric DOCTOR (e.g., a psychiatrist, or psychologist). From Albany straight through to Canada, what is purported to be "psychiatric care" consists solely of unqualified social workers and psychiatric nurses... and the quality of care is severely lacking. I never appreciated a good psychiatrist so much as when I realized they were no longer available. After searching for over a year to no avail, I finally found Lifestance Health. At first I was skeptical, as I had found other online practices that advertised the services of a psychiatrist until after you filled out an hour's long application for nothing, only to be informed that all they really had available was more psychiatric nurse practitioners. But Lifestance was everything it advertized itself to be, and more. I instantly had access to more psychiatric MD's than i had time to sort through. And the one that I ended up choosing is the most competent and professional psychiatrist ive ever seen. Lifestance is a breath of fresh air. I recommend it to anyone who needs psychiatric care... especially those in Upstate NY where there are no psychiatrists....

Lifestance has helped me choose an awesome therapist and psychiatrist! Having a good relationship with my doctor and therapist is important to me! Knowing that they are supportive and friendly puts my mind at ease in turbulent times. Being able to have access to appointment scheduling on their site makes keeping track of scheduling that much easier, and being able to send messages through the portal makes it easy to stay in touch in between meetings. My doctor has been a life saver, she listens, is respectful, and shows she cares every appointment we’ve had. After my last doctor retired I was worried about finding someone again, Lifestance, helped me chose someone very professional and supportive of my circumstance. I would definitely recommend!

First, I prayed about this. I have been praying for the past seven years, because that is how long I have been enduring. Second, I reached out to LifeStance Health with an open mind, and when I connected with Dr. Lilliana Aponte-Yap, there was something about her presence that made me feel secure in my decision to work with her. I have also come to realize that my healing process is not meant to look like anyone else’s. Thank you, Dr. Aponte, for supporting me and truly rocking with me through this journey. Hi my name is Danielle A. I would like to say from the time I signed up for life stance therapy Till now it’s been a wonderful experience from working with Julian Cesborn to My psychiatrist, Laura Velli Have really helped me understand life more and to know that there are people who really do understand. Julian taught me different exercises and my psychiatrist. When we talk she let me vent and feedback on different things so it is a wonderful experience to the point I already referred two people to them thank you

This is a decent way to get virtual mental health care. It's not a bunch of crap like BetterHelp or Talkspace either. The website is very glitchy which is why I took away a star, but overall, it's great. I've been recommending to everyone that needs therapy (which is everyone in the U.S. right now, although I haven't gotten in touch with all of them, obv). My therapist is absolutely awesome. My psychiatrist is....OK. But that's to be expected. Psychiatrists don't like to talk and don't want to get to know you.

Finally I’ve found a therapist that gets me and understands what I’m experiencing and has come up with a treatment plan that has finally been helping me. I’m still a work in progress but I feel we will get there very soon. She’s very pleasant and doesn’t make me feel awkward when I discuss anything with her. I look forward to continuing my treatment journey with her. Thank you for all you’ve done and I know will continue to do for my mental and emotional health.
